A.I. Prompt Craft - How to Make a Portal to Another Realm in MidJourney - Astra Studios

So you want to make a Portal?

No problem, I will happily show you the exact prompt I used to create this incredible portrait to another dimension. But first, let me try and also explain how I was able to use some basic guidelines to create a really cool piece of art. My hopes are that through these tutorials, you will also learn to create incredible works of art by structuring your prompts correctly.

Today, we have a simple one.

This is important!

Bookmark this page, save this image, screenshot it, get a tattoo of it on your body (don’t really do that) but do whatever you have to do to memorize this chart. The faster you memorize it the faster you will grow when using MidJourney.

I didn’t make this up, this isn’t sorcery. This is directly from MidJourney’s website on their best method to structure a prompt. Make note that the order is important here, and will have an effect on the final image.

It really is that simple. You could even alter this prompt and make it your own by changing the descriptors of the style, the background, or by adding a subject to the beginning of the prompt. The best advice I can give to describing a scene is to work from the subject then every detail in order of how close they are to the subject. For example a portal, description, location, background, parameters.

Here’s the rest of the set, feel free to tag us on social media with what you create. We would love to see everyone’s crazy portals and unique ideas.
